Laozi

Laozi (also Lao Tzu, 老子) is the traditional figure associated with the Tao Te Ching (Daodejing), a foundational text of ancient Chinese Daoist philosophy. Its 81 chapters explore the Dao, de (virtue), wu wei, humility, simplicity, contentment, and governance. Laozi's biography, historical dates, and the work's composition remain debated among scholars.
